Our History

A Decade of Grassroots Commitment, Now Officially Recognized

The seeds of Kanailal Rural Development Foundation were sown over 10 years ago, when a group of dedicated individuals β€” led by Mr. Arun Kumar Acharyya and supported by Mrs. Priya Bandyopadhyay Acharyya β€” began working informally to uplift the lives of underprivileged people in rural West Bengal. They started small β€” teaching children, helping women form self-help groups, offering health checkups, and guiding youth through cultural activities.

What began as a humble initiative rooted in compassion and community spirit gradually grew into a trusted support system for many villages in the Khanakul-1B region of Hooghly district.

Recognizing the increasing demand and impact of their service, the group decided to register officially as a non-profit organization. On 2nd April 2025, the foundation received its government registration (Reg. No: 278046) β€” marking the start of a new chapter with greater reach, structure, and accountability.

Today, the foundation continues to expand its impact β€” with a clear vision, structured programs, and a growing network of supporters and volunteers β€” while staying rooted in the values that inspired its journey.

Vision & Values

Our Dream. Our Principles. Our Direction.

To create self-reliant, educated, healthy, and culturally enriched rural communities where every individual β€” especially women and youth β€” has the opportunity to grow with dignity, confidence, and care.

We envision a rural India where empowerment replaces dependency, education unlocks potential, and compassion drives change.

πŸ’  Our Core Values

  • 🌱 Empowerment
We believe in building capacity β€” not charity. We guide individuals to stand on their own feet.

  • πŸ’– Compassion
Every action we take begins with empathy and respect for human dignity.

  • βš–οΈ Integrity
Transparency, honesty, and accountability form the backbone of our work.

  • 🀝 Community Participation
We work with communities, not for them. Local voices guide our decisions.

  • 🌿 Sustainability
We focus on long-term impact β€” environmentally, socially, and economically.

  • πŸŽ“ Inclusion
No one is left behind β€” regardless of gender, background, or ability.

β€œWe don’t wait for change. We become the change β€” in every village, every home, every heart.”

πŸ›• Future Vision

We are planning to build a rural ashram and temple, where the poor and homeless can find shelter, food, spiritual care, and dignity β€” a place of service and peace for all.
